BERN TOWNSHIP, PA. – The Bern Township supervisors have been presented with a revised proposal for a zoning overlay district to allow a shopping center, including a supermarket and 360 apartments, on the 60-acre Hartman Farm along Route 183 at Route 222.
Legend Properties, Inc., Plymouth Meeting, requested the zoning change last month and faced some objections from the supervisors, especially regarding the proposed apartments.
“We have listened to your concerns, “Legend CEO James DePetris said Tuesday.
The new proposal differs from the original by age-restricting 100 of the apartments, providing a schedule for construction the apartments only as the commercial development is built, and limiting the extent of the overlay district.
